There are many ways to improve the value of these instruments and we employ many different techniques. Once the problems or concerns are rectified we sometimes sell them. One of the simplest instruments to improve are green notes (a note that is new with no payment history) This type of cash flow becomes more valuable (seasoned) by merely waiting for a period of time. Once a timely payment history is established the cash flow is less of a risk. At the same time the principle balance due usually decreases and the collateral appreciates. All these factors decrease risk and increase the value of the note.
